Just completed a full ‘Nut And Bolt’ restoration with leading Karmann Ghia specialists Californian Classics Ltd of St Leonard’s On Sea, East Sussex, costing circa £30k.
This included bodywork and chassis being acid dipped followed by a bare metal respray (350 hours spent) with the chassis powder coated and sealed.
Engine rebuilt to 1776cc (100hp) to keep up with modern traffic.
4 speed super speed gearbox fitted.
Twin carburettors fitted.
Stainless steel sports exhaust and front disc brakes fitted.
Correct recessed Karmann Ghia badge on off side front wing.
Chrome VW hub caps.
Retrimmed classic red vinyl upholstery with all new carpets and headlining.
White steering wheel
Period radio etc… all to complete the iconic look…
All works started and completed by Californian classics to a sublime standard.
